Hi, my name is Jamey!
My path from mind to heart started well over a decade ago after I had a burn-out.
As a child, I had a very sensitive side. I was raised in a loving environment and culture, but the main focus was always on the practical side of life and how to strive for a better living. Little by little, I started to hide the sensitive side of myself to fit into the mindset I saw all around me.
As it happened, for the biggest part of my life, I only knew how to live a very mind-driven life. Decisions were made solely based on what was rational. Emotions, especially so-called “negative” ones, were something I conceptually understood, but not something I could fully connect with or experience. I led my life based on false beliefs that my self-worth was direly dependent on how my life looked from the outside (having a career, notable achievements) or how others thought of me.
So, in the process of recovering with the burn-out, I had to face all the ugly, messy and uncomfortable feelings and emotions that had been pushed under the rug over the years. Hidden in the dark corners of my inner landscape, comfortably out of sight. This was very unnatural process for me, as connecting to my feelings and emotions, and expressing this, was not something I was brought up with.
The journey of self-development and healing has been long and windy, with beautiful treasures along the road. And it will continue as I believe it’s a life-long path :)
In hindsight, the burn-out was a great blessing because it taught me how to..
~Live more from the heart instead of from a state of survival, trying to do everything perfect and accommodate everyone
~Unlearn social and cultural conditionings that where no longer useful
~Be with my feelings and emotions, however uncomfortable they feel
~Relax into my own body, free from tension in the body
~Liberate my mind from a stream of constant thoughts, worries, judgements
~Tap into my inner source of joy and lightness
~Built relationships with people around me from a place of authenticity
From this state of feeling bliss and blessed, I feel that it’s my purpose to share what I’ve learnt so far with anyone who has been struggling on a similar journey.
